6.30pm           Conclusion  - collect belongings and leave

The Makuru Winter Festival is a festival of quiet and introspection. Please assist us by maintaining an atmosphere of reverence and awe. As tempting as it is to take advantage of the time to catch up with relatives and friends (especially over a meal), we ask that you save this for another time. Your children need to stay with you for the whole evening, dinner, walk and bonfire. Quiet and the absence of phones and cameras will ensure a special time for all.

At the completion of the lantern walk, please collect your belongings and leave straight away.  Going straight home after the lantern walk avoid socialising with friends and family, this will deepen the experience for your child and the other children in the kindergarten. A warm drink and a bedtime story at home will complete the experience for your child.

Your child has already made a lantern and is learning the festival songs. Below are the songs as  audio recordings so that you may learn them before the festival.

We look forward to sharing this beautiful evening with you.

    With love

Gungarra, Sunflower and Rose Kindy Staff
