Kambarang Fair - Performance Times and Ways to Help!
Performance Times and Call Outs
Dear WCSS Community
Our Kambarang Fair is just 11 sleeps away and we need all hands on deck to make the day an enjoyable one for all! There are many ways you can help to make this day a wonderful celebration of our school community.
The Fair will open at 10.00am at the amphitheatre stage with a welcome and acknowledgement of Country followed by choir and orchestra performances. All students are expected to follow the school dress code on fair day and students in the orchestra and choir (Class 4,5 and 6) should wear a white t-shirt and be at their classrooms with their instrument by 9.50am.
A full program with site map will be released soon, but to help with your planning class performances are as follows:
The Amphitheatre Stage
10.00am: Orchestra and Choir (Class 4, 5 and 6)
11.00am: Class 1 and Class 6
12.00pm: Class 5 and Class 2
1.00pm Class 3 and Class 4
Parents, please ensure your child is at their classroom 10 minutes BEFORE their performance time. You can then find a place on the stage or veranda to watch them.
A reminder that children must be supervised throughout the day, if you are volunteering on a stall, or set up/pack down, please ensure you have arranged for someone to look after younger children during that time. And remember sunscreen, hat and water bottle!
There will be a cash-out facility in Reception. This is mainly a CASH event so come prepared!
There will be a Craft Circle in the demountable closest to Rose Kindergarten and students are welcome to bring their craft bag along and work on their current school project.
We are asking every family to bake something for the cake stall, be it a cake, batch of biscuits, muffins, bliss balls, slice etc. Please leave in the staff room on Friday (31/10) or deliver to the cake stall in the Hub on fair morning with your container labelled and an ingredients list (nut and sesame-free, minimal dairy, shelf stable please).
Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who have signed up already. Please check if there are any spaces on your class roster or other rosters which might need some help, including helping with food prep and set up on Friday.
What can you do now to help?
- Donate plants to the Plant Stall. Plants can be dropped off at Class 3 anytime where they will be looked after until the Fair.
- Drop raffle prizes to Reception.
- Can you lend a trestle table, gazebo or umbrella? Please label with your name and leave in the Woodwork Room.
- Call out for lemons - Please leave in the container at the Hub gate.
- We are looking for lots of flowers, greenery and vines for flower crowns, as well as some palm fronds for the coconut shy.   Please bring to the kindy veranda or leave by the staffroom on Friday (31/10) or early Fair morning.
- Donate books (for children or adults) to the basket outside the library for the Book Stall.
- And of course, spread the word! Invite friends and family to come along, grab some posters from Reception and pop up in your neighbourhood or business and share the Facebook Event!
Thank you all for bringing such a joyous energy to these preparations. We hope you have a wonderful day of community and celebrating everything that is our school.
Warmly
The Fair Organising Committee
