Looking Forward Fourth Edition
WCSS Redevelopment Update

Dear WCSS Families,
Welcome to the Fourth Edition of our Looking Forward redevelopment newsletter. Thank you to all who took the time to complete the Community Redevelopment Survey. Your responses have been informative and beneficial to our planning.
Exciting News: Stage 1 Development Approval Granted!
We are thrilled to announce that the City of Stirling has officially granted Development Approval for Stage 1 of our school’s redevelopment plans. This significant milestone allows us to begin the transformation of our school grounds. Here’s what that means for us for the term ahead:
Tender Process Begins
Next week, our architects will release the tender for the construction of the new Class 3 & 4 building.
July School Holiday Works
During the upcoming school holidays, the following works will take place:
- Site Preparation: The area behind the existing school buildings will be prepared to allow for the relocation of our Playgroup building and the construction of the new Maintenance and Woodwork Shed.
- Playgroup Relocation: The Playgroup building will be moved to the end of the Class 1 playground.
- Temporary Classrooms: Two brand-new temporary classrooms will be installed in the main courtyard.
Term 3 Works
The Maintenance and Woodwork Shed will be built during Term 3.
Classes 5 & 6 will move into the new temporary classrooms at the end of Term 3, paving the way for the construction of our first brand-new learning spaces.
October School Holidays
- The house at 32 Nollamara Avenue will be demolished.
- The current Class 5 & 6 classrooms will also be demolished in preparation for the building of our new classrooms to begin.
RSVP now for our second Community Forum happening in Term 3 on Thursday August 7 at 6pm. This evening event is another opportunity to engage with School Council members directly, particularly for those who could not attend the Market Day Community Forum. We do hope you can attend.
